Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights regarding their personal information under applicable state law. If this applies to you, please see the "Additional Privacy Rights for Certain States" section below.

Protected Classification Information. Information such as date of birth, age, gender, or military status, where relevant to your rental (for example, military discounts).

Communications Content. The content of calls, texts, emails, and web chat messages you exchange with us, including recordings or transcripts where applicable. Some customer service interactions may be handled by AI-powered chat or voice tools; where that's the case, we will let you know you're interacting with an automated assistant.

Inferences and Preferences. Information we infer about your service preferences, communication preferences, or general location to help us improve and personalize our Services.

Sensitive Personal Information. Limited to account login credentials.

2. Where We Get This Information

  • Directly from you — when you visit a facility, rent a unit, create an account, or contact us by phone, email, chat, or other means.
  • Automatically — through facility security systems, and through cookies and similar tracking technologies when you use our website or app (see Section 5).
  • From service providers and other third parties — under agreements that govern how they may share information with us.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Operating Our Business. To provide the Services you request, manage your rental and account, process billing, and run daily facility operations.
  • Communicating With You. To respond to inquiries, send account or billing notices, and deliver updates based on your communication preferences.
  • Improving Our Services. To analyze customer interactions (including calls, chats, and emails) for quality assurance, training, and service improvement.
  • Marketing. To personalize offers, promotions, and advertising, and to evaluate and improve our marketing effectiveness, where permitted by law.
  • Sensitive Information. Any use of sensitive personal information (i.e., login credentials) is limited to what's necessary to provide our Services and meet legal obligations.

4. Who We Share Information With

We may share Personal Information with:

  • Service Providers and Contractors who help us with things like payment processing, identity verification, data hosting, call/chat analysis, and customer support, under confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Marketing and Advertising Partners who help design campaigns, serve relevant ads, and manage social media outreach.
  • Affiliates and Business Partners where necessary to provide the Services.
  • Government Agencies and Regulators when required by law, subpoena, or legal process.
  • Successors in a Business Transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy proceeding.
  • Advertising Networks and Analytics Partners, limited to identifiers and online activity information, for targeted advertising and campaign measurement.

We do not share text messaging opt-in or consent data with third parties, except with vendors who help us operate our text messaging systems.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies ("Tracking Technologies") to support and improve our website and app.

  • Cookies help with navigation, faster login, and remembering your preferences.
  • Pixels and Similar Tools help us understand engagement with our site, emails, and ads.
  • Analytics Tools (such as Google Analytics) help us understand usage patterns and improve performance. You can learn more about Google's practices, or opt out, through Google's published tools.
  • Cross-Device Tracking may be used to recognize you across your devices for advertising purposes; opting out generally must be done per browser/device.
  • Session Replay technology may be used to help us diagnose website issues by reviewing anonymized interactions like clicks and scrolling.
  • Do Not Track signals are not currently recognized by our systems, though you can manage cookie settings directly through your browser.

Managing Cookies

You can adjust your browser settings to block or limit cookies, though this may affect site functionality. You can also use industry opt-out tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page or the Network Advertising Initiative's consumer tools to limit interest-based advertising.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 18. If we learn that we've inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us information without proper consent, please contact us using the information in Section 11.

7. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

7.1 Accessing or Updating Your Information

You can review, update, or correct your Personal Information by logging into your account, visiting your facility's office, or contacting us directly.

7.2 Opting Out of Communications

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails or texts at any time (e.g., by clicking "unsubscribe" or replying STOP). Account-related communications, such as billing or payment notices, cannot be opted out of, as they are necessary to service your account.

7.3 Additional Privacy Rights for Certain States

Residents of states with applicable consumer privacy laws may have additional rights, which can include the right to:

  • Know/Access what Personal Information we've collected, its sources, our purposes for collecting it, and who we've shared it with.
  • Delete Personal Information we've collected about you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information.
  • Opt Out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information, targeted advertising, or profiling used for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
  • Non-Discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
  • Appeal a denied request, and be informed of how to escalate the matter to your state's Attorney General if the appeal is denied.

Dove Storage operates facilities across all 50 states, and the specific rights available to you may depend on where you live. Where required, we will honor opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) transmitted by your browser or device.

How to submit a request: You may exercise these rights by contacting us through our website contact form, by mail at the address listed in Section 11, or by phone. Please indicate which state's privacy law your request relates to, and include your name, email address, and zip code so we can verify your identity. We may deny a request if we're unable to verify it, or if an exception under applicable law applies.

7.4 California Residents

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale/sharing, limit use of sensitive personal information (though we do not engage in activities that would trigger this), and non-discrimination, generally consistent with the rights described in Section 7.3 above.

We do not sell or share sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly sell or share Personal Information belonging to individuals under 16 years old.

You can opt out of the sale/sharing of your information tied to targeted advertising by adjusting cookie preferences on our website, or via a recognized opt-out preference signal like Global Privacy Control.

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a privacy request on your behalf, provided you give us written authorization to verify that request.

We retain Personal Information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law.

8. Legal Disclaimer

Nothing in this Policy limits our ability to:

  • Comply with applicable law or legal process (including subpoenas or government requests);
  • Cooperate with law enforcement regarding suspected illegal activity;
  • Exercise or defend legal claims;
  • Investigate and prevent fraud, security incidents, or other harmful activity; or
  • Transfer information as part of a merger, acquisition, or similar business transaction.
